Partial Dentures
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth while leaving healthy natural teeth in place. A removable appliance is custom-fitted to your bite, helping restore chewing function and support the shape of your smile. Dr. Adam Salm, DMD, evaluates your remaining teeth and gum tissue to determine whether a partial denture is a good fit for your situation, and discusses the options available to you.
How Partial Dentures Are Planned
- Digital X-Ray Imaging — Gives Dr. Salm a clear view of remaining teeth, bone, and supporting structures before any appliance is designed.
- Digital Impression Scanning — Replaces messy molds with a precise digital scan, used to fabricate a partial denture that fits comfortably against your natural teeth and gums.
What to Expect
Partial dentures are typically considered when several teeth are missing but enough natural teeth remain to anchor the appliance. Fit and comfort are checked over the course of treatment, with adjustments made as needed so the appliance sits securely and functions well for everyday use.
